This porcelain plate was produced in Germany by Meissen in the 1880s. It has the first quality, underglaze crossed swords mark with pommels. This is the Noren used at the ship merchant's house on the Japan Sea side of the Edo Period. It has Mount Fuji, a merchant ship and a family crest. The merchant ship is stylized. This is dyed with indigo. This is Tsutsugaki cotton. There are two small holes, but they are not outstanding. There is a place where a thread came off a little. The back is fading. Small statue of Bhairava standing on a lotus base, in an aggressive posture, holding Brahma's skull in his left hand, with his right hand raised threateningly. 18th century netsuke of the magic horse appearing from a dried gourd. According to a Japanese legend the gourd belonged to Chokwaro sennin (Chinese sage) who could summon the magic horse out of it to be transported wherever he wanted. Elegantly carved piece with great face and mane. Beautiful wear and patina. Length 1 9/16 inches.

Song Dynastie ( 12th - 13th century ) stoneware Temmoku with an extremely nice hares fur glaze ! This is our very best Temmoku until today ! Bowls like this were produced at the Jian kilns in Fujian province and at kilns in Henan province. Perfect condition and a glaze like never seen before ! Diameter : 12,9 cm. H : 7,2 cm. Inro with 4 compartments in black lacquered wood. Decor of a mountain lake landscape executed in gold and silver powder. Mosaic details of small squares of gold. The worn parts reveal the red lacquer which was used to execute the reliefs. Japanese work from the 18th century or before. No signing. Good general condition for a tercentenary lacquer. Multiple small damages all visible on photos. No repainted areas, no restoration. Quality lacquer, solid. 82x52mm.

Guanyin carved from a piece of white jade. She is depicted standing, holding a vase of flowers in her hands. The simplicity of the sculpture, the strength it exudes make me think of an ancient time. I think early Qing or Ming period...
