This rare tortoise shell carved RuYi (scepter) is a mid-19th century product. It is 13 ½” long and 3 1/2” wide from the widest part (head of the scepter). There are fourteen cranes carved in relief flying in coiled lucky clouds. The pattern repeats and covers the entire handle and head. It is in excellent condition. More photos are available.

Chrysanthemum theme repeating on the rim, through the column, the base, and in decorative embellishment depicting the stems and leaves in blue and the finely detailed blossoms in white. There is small chipping throughout - on the rim of one holder and in the finely detailed stems and blossoms on each. Offered in as found condition. Height of each about 6 inches (15.24 cm)

An exquisite slightly fluted porcelain bowl with a dragon parading though tendrils of cloud in raised relief by Mokusen enclosed in the original signed wooden box. It is 18.3 cm (7 inches) diameter, 9cm tall (3-1/2 inches) tall and in excellent condition. Mokusen was a prolific porcelain artist in Kyoto well known for his tea ware.

Former collector’s numeration (95) inside the carefully modeled ring foot. Dark points around the foot indicate that the cup was hold with four fingers when dipped into the black glaze.

A rare Qingbai Jindezhen Shufu dish foliated rim, decorated with molded incised floral to the center and classic scrolls to the rim side. Covered overall with a bluish green glaze. Condition with a chip associated short hairline visible on enlargement 3, otherwise is good condition. Yuan Dynasty . Diameter: 12,3 cm.

A wonderful example of an original Japanese Armored Safe chest. Constructed of hand selected and quartered sawn keyaki (zalkova hardwood) and hand forged iron hardware / fittings. Thick hinged door opens to reveal 4 individual drawers with secret compartment located under the largest (bottom) drawer. Internal drawers are made of original light kiri (paulownia) wood.

19th century Chinese scholar’s burl wood belt buckle with a dragon head finial looking at her cub crawling over her belly. Could have been used as a brush rest. Antique Japanese single section isho tansu (clothing chest) made of kiri (paulownia) wood. Iron hardware includes warabite shaped drawer pulls and round lock plates. There are two large exterior drawers. In the bottom right hand corner is a safe box with hinged door and two small interior drawers.

Description:

A celadon ewer or water dropper was intriguingly mold as chicken pot.
By cute-looking spout and simple-form wings, the porcelain pot was applied with glass-sheen glaze all over the surface.
On the unglazed bottom, the dense-feel clay was revealed and was with adhesives of burial earth.
Crackles and abrasions were resulted from incursions too.
It was kept in very fine condition.
The tint of the glaze in the pictures is a bit biased than in real.

Thai 14th - 15th Century Sawankhalok Celadon Bowl (20cm)

This stoneware bowl was made at the Sawankhalok kilns around the 14th - 15th century. It is quite "heavily-potted" and coated in a finely-crackled translucent olive-green celadon glaze. The inner surface has been elaborately decorated with incised parallel bands and vertical lines, with surface decoration also to the flared rim.. The base remains unglazed revealing the pale grey stoneware body.
