This is an authentic Nephrite jade carving of a mythical beast known as a Bixie, as those of you who collect in this area will recognize. The piece measures slightly less than 3-1/2" in length and is1-5/8" in height. The stone is a pale celadon in color, showing substantial alteration in the hindquarters. An antique Japanese Sakata Funa Tansu (ship captain's safe) made of Keyaki (Zelkova) and Kiri (Paulownia) woods. Large security door lifts out to reveal two large drawers where ship valuables were stored and kept safe from pirates and thieves. All original hand forged iron hardware including the Mokko style handles and the Pine and Bamboo incised lock plate.

A superb example of one of the rarest and most sought after types of 18th c English glass, the color twist. The bell bowl sits atop a shoulder knopped stem with a white lace twist outlined in red around a central green thread. A gorgeous and perfect glass. 6 1/2 inches tall.

Used as a container for red cinnabar seal paste, intended for use on a scholar's table. There are a few minor firing flaws. The lid fits rather loosely. Overall good condition with some remnants of red seal paste. Acquired in Hong Kong in the 1960s.

It has a thick, shiny glaze and also shows some unglazed spots. Beautiful antique Japanese choba tansu, merchant's storage chest, all original finish with keyaki (elm) wood panels on the front finished in a medium brown, sugi (cryptomeria) wood frame finished with a black lacquer, iron hardware, safe box with two small drawers on the inside, Edo Period (early 1800's). Size: 33 1/2" high x 36" wide (37 1/4" wide including side handles) x 15 1/2" deep.

Offered is a very desirable and early, circa 1890 - 1900, hickory shaft, golf club marked PETER EAGEN - PRINCETON, NJ. The leather grip is in good condition, and the straight hickory shaft sports a nice, aged patina.

This handsome club is known as a BRASSIE and measures 40 inches from heel to top of shaft. The checkering to the face, including the rams horn on the leading edge, show minimal signs of wear...

Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue & White Porcelain Bowl (Hongzhi)

This blue and white porcelain bowl with flared rim was made during the late 15th - early 16th century (Hongzhi reign 1488 – 1505). The outer wall is decorated in underglaze blue with a honeycomb pattern. The central decoration is loosely based on a vajra (Buddhist sceptre) with various other decorations around the inner wall. It is coated in a finely-crackled glaze.

Pretty German 800 silver and crystal decanter, ca 1910. Curved and faceted crystal body flowing into spread base; acid-etched flowers, leaves, and scrolls. Drum-form neck in silver collar with tooled flowers and scrolls. Silver ovoid and faceted stopper with flowers and scenes of gallantry. Pierced silver border at base with scrolls and shells. Marks include maker’s stamp for Vereinigte Silberwarenfabrik in Hanau. Good condition.

Beautiful and rare famille rose porcelain dish with very well painted figural and landscaping decoration. Qianlong six characters reign mark and of the period. Condition: Excellent, there are small chips on the foot rim, it looks like that these chips were already there before the enamel applied. Please refer to the enlargements to confirm this. Samurai Yoritomo (Minamonoto) Japanese Doll, first Kamakura Shogun dressed in Suoh, high ranking Samurai's attire in Kamakura Period. The doll was possibly made by Maruhei in Kyoto. Circa Taisho period, 1920-1930. Damages in the black cloth hat.

The measurements: 14 inches to the tip of his hair and 13 inches across the sleeves at the bottom when the doll is displayed. The bow is a new addition.

19th century Japanese Asakusa school staghorn kiseruzutsu - tobacco pipe case - carved with a scholarly landscape with a temple among hills and rocks by a pine tree, and a village in the distance. Clever carving incorporating porous texture of its center as element of design, nicely chunky. Beautiful wear and patina, in great condition. Length 8 inches.

Very decorative, large Ming mid 15th century blue and white bowl. Diameter : 23,3 cm. Condition : There is a professional, rather insignificant ( no lost ) and nearly invisible restoration done to the bowl.

A hexagonal Worcester teapot stand circa 1760 with molded chrysanthemums overlaid by blue painted blossoms which are repeated in a garland formation on the interior rim. Diameter is approximately 5 inches (12.7 cm), and height is approximately 5/8 of an inch (1.6 cm).

Condition: Slight discoloration on bottom. No chips, cracks, or repairs.

It depicts a young boy holding peach branches trying to climb a reclining water buffalo. Aside from some natural blemishes on the bottom, it is in great condition.

An antique Japanese Buddhist temple ranma (transom) carved from Hinoki (Cypress) wood featuring symbols of Dharmachakra. Dharmachakra sometimes symbolizes Gautama Buddha himself. There are three wheels of life each framed with 8 spokes, representing the noble eightfold path with lotus blossoms in the center . Accentuated by kumo karakusa (arabesque clouds). Minor losses.

LIAO Dynasty Terracotta Buddhist Votive Plaque/Amulet, China, AD. 907-1125, with very fine details. Nicely mounted on wooden base. Originates from a group of varied tablet sizes that were excavated, most likely from the foundations of an ancient Buddhist temple, placed there to ensure success and prosperity. Condition: good, minor inconsequential chips, no restorations. Size: 2.75" (7 cm.)

An attractive globular Satsuma vase by Hosai, late 19th century. The vase is decorated with three family crests, including the Paulownia of the Toyotomi clan, the Hollyhock leaves of the Tokugawa shoguns and the cross of the Shimazu clan who ruled over Satsuma, Ōsumi and Hyūga.

Within the foot-rim can be found the gold mark ‘Satsuma Hosai’ and a Shimazu mon in white enamel. Hosai worked towards the end of the 19th century and his work is represented in the NSW Museum in Australi...

A fine Antique Porcelain BENJARONG/BENCHARONG BOWL, specially made in China for the Siamese Court and Nobility. Late 18/19th Century. The inside is emerald green with flower decor and a center medallion, whereas the outside depicts 4 alternative Norasingh and Kinaree figures on a Famille Noire background. Size: 17.1 cm. diameter x 8.9 cm height (3 1/2" x 6 3/4". Good condition, with 1 firing hairline on top rim, hardly noticeable, except upon close inspection. Rare size and item!
