An absolutely lovely large terracotta head of a female deity, perhaps Aphrodite/Venus, Hellenistic or early Roman, 2nd. century BC-1st. cent AD.

The unusual head is not hollowcast but solid and done in the fine Hellenistic or early Roman style. She is tilting her head slightly to her left and has an elaborate headdress.

This ancient bronze dates to the first half of the first millennium BC. It is exceptional for the presence of a leopard, or feline at the top, as the majority of similar pieces are unadorned. An antique Japanese Ko Tansu (personal storage chest) made of Kirinoki (Paulownia) and Suginoki (Cryptomeria) woods. All original hand made iron fittings including the Warabite handles and finish. The front has a natural Kirinoki wood finish while the case was finished in a wiped Urushi lacquer technique. Constructed using straight dovetail joinery and hardened wooden nails.

This marked Tong Zhi Period (1862~1874) Famille-Rose ribbed rice bowl is 2 ¼ inches tall and 4 ¾ inches in diameter. It depicts two boys from good families playing in a garden. One is feeding a bird; the other is watching two flying bats. The bird, magpie and bat represent good luck in Chinese custom. The workmanship is precise and refined. It is in great condition.

This is a beautiful bronze dagger from the Dong Son culture in early Southeast Asia. It dates to the Han period (ca 200 bc). The very fine quillons that are often missing on pieces of this type are present and intact, making this a truly rare and high quality find. It measures 31.5 cm in length and weighs 371 grams. It appears to have a repair to the very tip, which is not uncommon for these daggers.

Khmer 12th Century Glazed Stoneware Jarlet

This unusually-shaped small stoneware jar was made during the 12th Century. It has a globular body that flares down into a relatively wide foot with a flat base. The body is decorated with four groups of three vertically incised parallel lines. Around the mouth is a serrated edge.

Height 6 cm. Where the glaze is at its thinnest it has flaked from the surface in places, but there is no restoration or repair.
