Japanese Taisho Period ikebana basket (for flower arranging). Made all of lovely split bamboo with a semi open weave. The handle is made of three pieces of bamboo and knotted together. Wrapped detailed where the handle meets the body of the basket. Signed Kokosai. Size: 19" high x 9" wide.

Two Kome-bukuro (rice bag) made of cotton fragments which are hand-spun and vegetable indigo dye. They are stripes, kasuri and fine katazome (stencil-resist dye). Both have writing with sumi, Echizenya, the shop's name and "Hane" which is located in Shimane prefecture facing to the Japan Sea. Kome-bukuro was used when people dedicated rice or grains to temples or shrines. Both are in excellent condition, bags and strings. 19th to early 20th century. Antique Chinese small hardwood display cabinet, with multi-tiered platforms for the display of tea articles and other special pieces. The front of the cabinet has two front hinged doors carved with fu dogs, its apron below carved with scrolling motifs. The interior holds two small secret drawers and an open storage compartment.

Antique Chinese Famille Rose porcelain brush pot with scenes of a pair of birds of paradise in a garden of peonies and chrysanthemums with butterflies flying about. It bears a seal on the base. It is attributed to Jia Qing. It measures 5.75" tall 5" wide at mouth, 4.75" at base.

Tibetan snuff bottle with wood body, with decorative silver base and shoulders. The silver work shows a bird with elaborate wing feathers and thin handles on either side of the bottle. The stopper lid is capped with coral and the spoon is also silver. The condition is very good. Bottle measures 3" x 2"

Kake-fukusa, a gift cover, used on the occasion of auspicious events. It is made of tapestry weave silk with two performers motif, one is wearing Daikoku costume with a gavel. Two men look Kado-tsuke, strolling musicians or performers who play dancing and music in front of houses and get some money. In good condition but damage in the black Eboshi (hat) of the man with a fan. Meiji period (1868~1912) 62cm x 67cm

This elaborate antique embroidery panel is from Gujrat India and would have been used as a dowery quilt. It is backed with soft aged (now muted) cotton fabric, leaving a 4 inch border surrounding the embroidery. The gold and silver metallic threads are also somewhat subdued and blended giving the panel a soft and somewhat muted appearance which is very pleasing...

Antique Japanese small chest with drawers, called a dibukuro. Traditional Japanese homes hold a tea ceremony room with a tokonama, or a recessed closet/alcove in which pieces of artistic appeal would be displayed such as hanging scrolls, pottery, okimono and ikebana floral arrangements. The dibukuro would be seated on the floor of the tokonama. (shown in detail photos)...

Edo period Japanese lacquered leather covered munitions box for gun powder. The leather hinged top has a gilt edge, on center is a copper metal clasp closure, and an iron chain handle. Double stamped in red lacquer with the Omodaka mon, which belongs to the Mizuno family clan. The box is in good condition.

Antique Chinese pair of yellow glaze bowls with incised flying dragons and clouds of smoke along its outer edges, and a single dragon within double rings on the inside center. Wonderful crackling in the glaze is most apparent near the rim and the foot of each bowl. The bottom of each bowl has a Xuande period mark, but most likely dates from the 19th century Ching Dynasty.
