An e-kagami of very small proportions 69.4mm (2.73 inches) in diameter, and 12.2cm (4.8 inches) weighing 51gm. Decorated with a sand textured ground and Hares, usage, leaping over stylised waves, nami,in this example taking the form of ryusuimon in which there is a reflection of a crescent moon. The mirror is signed Fujiwara and probably dates to the late seventeenth century, Mid Edo period. For condition see photos, some wear and minor corrosion. Worldwide shipping at Cost.

Momoyama to early Edo period made, little distorted half cylinder ki-Seto (yellow Seto) chawan with a great wabi-sabi atmosphere, rarely seen on ki-Seto items.

Ki-Seto is said to have been the outcome of the attempts of potters to recreate Chinese celadon wares. A fortunate mistake, for a new ware was born. The ash glaze looks like deep-fried tofu and has been given the name aburaage-de. Almost all Ki-Seto wares are serving utensils - exept some few tea bowls...

Classical mallet (kinuta) shaped celadon vase in the style of the longquan kilns of the 13th century. The celadon glaze is applied very thickly and the vase may have been glazed and fired more than one time. Some fine aesthetic hairlines complete its beautiful expression.

Yuan Dynasty 14th century Dehua ware covered box. Porcellanous stoneware with honey - coloured glaze over a extremely nice moulded floral decoration. Diameter : 7,2 cm. Condition : Some very faint age - cracks to the glaze but not in the body. One single minute chip at the underside of the box, which not interfers the extremely nice appearance of this rare piece.

Antique Japanese tansu chest, made all of kiri (paulownia) wood. The tansu has four large drawers, the bottom two of which are locked with a vertical locking bar also made of kiri wood. The two top drawers have wonderful large iron lock plates in the shape of peony flowers with raised flower buds. The corners of each drawer are reinforced with chrysanthemum shaped ironwork. This is the clothes which a fire fighter of Edo period wore inside of Sashiko Hanten. This is the very rare item which the person of waterfall ascetic practices was drawn on to a back in Tsutsugaki. This picture does one of the famous programs of Kabuki in a motif. The cotton is spun by hand. And it is slightly thick. This has several places of fading and tears. This has small damage on a collar and a shoulder. However, I do not feel the state. Size 67cm x 90cm (26.3 "x 35.4")

The quality of this small elephant is excellent. Standing foursquare with head turned to one side. The body and the separately cast reliquary - monstrance inlaid, brightly enameled, multi coloured and richly ornamented. Nineteenth century or a little bit earlier. L : 14,8 cm. This lovely plum patterned chawan (umebachi) is done in a classic style known as e-Gorai (“e” meaning picture and “Gorai” meaning Korean). This classification is somewhat of a misnomer as the style is said to have first developed at China’s Cizhou kilns in early Ming—only later being widely copied and popularized in Korea. e-Goriai wares first made an appearance in Japan by way of Korea at the end of the 16th century and have been highly appreciated among tea enthusiasts to this day....

A bowl of unusual inverted bell shape with a comparatively high foot-rim the exterior decorated in early Ming style with an elaborate high looping lotus arabesque to the body. A long dish of elliptical form moulded with petals decorated with a dense hagi-karakusa ground and an oval reserve containing a simple flowering Apricot, ume, growing from a rock. The reverse decorated with Karakusa sprigs, and a spiral Fuku within a double square. The dish dates to the early Eighteenth century circa 1700-1740. The dish is in good condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. It measures 20.3cm in diameter, 10xm at its widest and stands 4.5cm high

Beautiful and Rare Korean Joseon Dynasty Silver and Coral Eunjangdo with Very Fine Floral Design. The eunjangdo was worn by a woman of rank as a chest pendant and a symbol of her social standing. This dagger also served as a tool to save women from personal humiliation or peril, not by attacking an assailant but by killing themselves, under the Confucian moral obligation of medieval Korea 'to remain faithful to one spouse'. 4 inches, 10 cm.

Antique Japanese stringed instrument called a koto, with a black lacquer box lined in fabric with floral motif and a cherry blossom crest in gilt lacquer on the lid. It is made from kiri wood (paulownia) and is covered in beautiful, intricate inlay of coral, mother of pearl, and shells in the forms of various flowers and birds. A koto player would kneel before the instrument to play. Special bridges are used on each string to alter the pitch. Size: 4.5" H x 9" W x 70" L

Slightly distorted cylinder shaped (hanzutsu) tea bowl made of light, fine, unrefined Mino clay. Shape and style make it appear contemporary with the late Oribe bowls. The expertly thrown body is covered with the typical black oniita engobe inside and outside - with the exception of the bottom - over which a white, feldspatic Shino glaze has been poured.
