Antique Chinese cast bronze and hand-chiseled incense burner censer, signed with a seal mark in zhuanshu scripts, 18th -19th century, Qing dynasty.

The body of the censer is in the form of an elegant bombé vessel set with twin handles and four legs in the form of bamboo branches.

19th century Asakusa school staghorn netsuke of obihasami type carved with a design of a woven fence. The hooks at the top and bottom of the piece go around the edges of obi - a sash holding a kimono. Excellent clever and subtle piece typical of Asakusa school, warm patina, darker porous areas as is usual with staghorn. Wonderful representative piece for a collection of different netsuke types. Magnificent antique Chinese Wucai procaine large baluster vase, 17th century, transitional period, circa 1650.

The vase is decorated to the body with finely hand-painted four large lobed panels with a band of Ruyi heads, all reserved against a trefoil ground of iron red.

Each panel encloses figures in landscape scenes. The shoulder is decorated with flower heads amongst profuse scrolling tendrils, and the base is encircled by a border of overlapping leaf tips.

Antique Chinese, finely potted, amber-brown glazed ceramic jar, 17th century (late Ming dynasty).

The broad-shouldered globular body rises from a flat base to a short neck with a lipped rim, covered with a rich glaze of various shades of amber brown, stopping neatly 2 cm above the foot ring.

According to a Japanese legend the gourd belonged to Chokwaro sennin (Chinese sage) who could summon the magic horse out of it to be transported wherever he wanted.
