A stunningly and intricately carved genuine QING DYNASTY WOODEN CHINESE WEDDING BED HEADBOARD. Good condition. Size: height 150 cm x width 227 cm (59" x 90").

This antique lamp was sourced from an old Buddhist Temple in Mongolia. It would have been used as a light source, commonly using fat but also occasionally using oil for fuel. The surfaces are rusted and corroded from centuries of use and weather, which gives the piece character and shows it to be an ethnographic artifact of cultures past and passing. Approx 8 inches wide across the rim of the base and approx 12 inches high. Weight is approx 4.5 lbs

Lacquer and wickerwork, the inside of the lid serves as a presentation bowl for sweets. Decorated with Buddhist symbols. H. 16 cm, diameter 15 cm. Cyclical date 1857. Good condition with normal age wear.

Chinese porcelain jar decorated with under glaze cobalt and over glaze famille verte enamel, depicting four ladies and thirteen boys playing in a court garden. Qing Dynasty, 18th/19th century. Condition: one patched chip on outside of top rim; one "star crack" inside foot rim, only stained section is through the body and to be seen(about 1" long) inside the jar; one glaze crack (see photo #6),on glaze only, does not affect the body. Height of jar: 11".

Japanese Edo Period Musha Ningyo (Boys Day) Dolls, Samurai Set. Ningyo this early almost never appear for sale, much less with accessories, as we have here with this very fine quality pair. They have finely carved faces, and are lacquered with many coats of gofun (white oyster shell pigment). They are adorned with sumptuous silk brocades and silk armor, indicative of Edo Period Ningyo artistry. Tallest Ningyo: 19 inches (48.25cm).

These early Qing dynasty cups were carved from coconut shell, and lined with metal which was originally coated with silver. The Chinese believed that silver would tarnish when in contact with poison. Many wealthy Chinese liked to use silver lined cups and chopsticks tipped with silver fittings was an assurance against poisoning...

This Chinese wood carving from the Qing Dynasty portrays a seated nobleman. The surface is covered with remains of the original multi layers of lacquer paint. There are no marks on the bottom. Hand carved and only 4 inches high this is a charming piece of old folk art, an artifact from the glory days of old China.

The pages are written recto/verso, in Pali script lacquered with black tamarind seed on a gilt background and illuminations. Exceptionally large Kyoto ceramic incense burner. It is turned in a typical clay, a kind of sandstone earthenware covered with finely cracked glaze . A charming decor, animated by chinese children playing, develops over the entire surface, enamelled with colors predominantly green and blue. Gold details. On the sides, bouquets of flowers and leaves bloom elegantly. It is rare to find such harmonious sculptures on Japanese ceramics, usually they are ostentatiously excessive and vulgar...
