Rare Japanese Funa Tansu known as a Ship Captain's vault chest. Made with beautiful original thick Hinoki (Japanese cedar) wood, with triangular mortis and tenon joinery. The corners and drawers are accented by attractive ash color iron plating. The inside of the chest holds a unique array of seven drawers in a natural finish, with hirute type drawer pulls and all but three with additional locks.

Antique Chinese porcelain bowl, of an oval form with ribbed sides and a famille rose color palette. The yellow sides are incised with various Chinese inscriptions in blue glaze while several key characters are glazed in red. The foot is tall and deeply recessed with a red seal of Daoguang (1821-1850).

Old (1920's) Japanese Lacquer Inro with Boxwood Toad Netsuke by Masanao III Miyake Kisaburo
It is 2.8 inches (7.2 cm) tall and 2.2 inches (5.5cm) wide. The netsuke is 1.2 inches (3 cm) by 0.97 inch (2.5 cm) wide. It is 42.9 gram.
It is in good condition with no repairs except chips, peeling of lacquer and surface scratches (as seen in the photos).

Late 19th century Chinese seal carved out of lapis lazuli . Beautifully designed in a shape of a mountain, deep blue on one side with white streaks on the other, golden flecks on the sides. The bottom is carved with raised characters, traces of red seal paste in the grooves. Very beautiful piece appropriate for scholar’s table, pleasant matte surface. Height 1 1/2 inches, length 1 5/8 inches.
Late 19th century Chinese jade seal carved out of a jade boulder. True nephrite jade with russet original skin of the boulder, pleasant natural matte finish to the stone. The bottom is carved with raised characters that can be translated as STUDIO OF GREAT ELEGANCE, traces of red seal paste in the grooves. Wonderful austere piece appropriate for scholar’s table. Height 1 3/16 inches, length 1 1/2 inches.
This is natural indigo dyeing Shirusi-Hanten made at the beginning of the Meiji period. This gets texture and others by cotton and silk. As for this, cotton and silk are spun by hand. It is rare that Shirusi-Hanten is woven by cotton and silk. Most are only cotton. This has fading with several places of a few holes, but the state is good. This was sewed for a child again. Chinese Song Dynasty black glazed Pottery Jar, 13th to 14th century, 3 1/2" high, 5" wide-widest part in the middle, 2 7/8" diameter-top rim, with dark brownish black glaze. The unglazed bottom section is rounded and smooth and has incised small marks and drawings-see photos. there are few frits on the bottom.

An ornate silver betel box with open-work patterns of curling tendrils. The body and lid each have five panels with high relief work depicting 10 different scenes of ancient Burma. The top of the domed lid has a lotus blossom. The bottom is hammered with the date and occasion for the piece.
