Incredible belt buckle with chased Malay floral motifs on a niello ground. Three layers of ogival form with jagged edges and pointed sides. Several bands of geometric designs, line work and floral motifs ornament this piece. The centre is of plain silver with a central niello dot.The back has a looped carrier which allows a belt to pass through.

A circular form rising to a shallow point at the center, this jingasa is made of hide and cloth shaped in a mold, then finally black lacquered. It is decorated in front with a gold lacquered mon of an enzo which represents eternity. Mounted on a custom iron stand.

Late 18th - early 19th century Korean porcelain dish used in ceremonial rites of ancestor worship. The dish is concave so that the ceremonial meat or cake could be placed on it. Simple round shape and foot with slight waist express harmony needed for the ritual. Sand particles adhering to the foot and forming a circle on the dish itself (apparently those dishes were fired in stacks, so the circle is the print of a dish that was fired standing on this one)...
19th century Korean porcelain water dropper (used for diluting ink) in a shape of curled carp. According to a Chinese legend, a carp that can swim up the waterfall turns into a dragon, and thus serves as a paragon of perseverance, especially in scholarly pursuits. Free potting with nice depiction of fish’ scales, very nice underglaze blue wash, 2 openings for water. Old compressed dust on the surface, some scratching as to be expected, wonderful patina, overall in great shape...
A powder flask of a natural painted turtle and fitted boxwood nozzle and stopper cover. The skeletal shell of the turtle is smooth with a warm tone patina. The flask is attached by a silk chord to a piece of circular boxwood toggle that could be slipped into the belt. Mounted on a custom iron stand.

This bronze cast cannon is decorated in low relief of a coiled dragon. The fish like handle stock and representing a carp is in homage to the original purpose of such cannon. These examples where used to shoot flaming signals from ships at sea. Mounted on custom Bronze stand. Pitting finish shows indication of sand casting. Fine detail shows high level craftsmanship.

Antique Japanese 2-section todana tansu, comprised all of Keyaki (elm) wood, with stunning, bold natural burl front panels with original, warm finish. Simplistic design with minimalistic hardware. Its two lowest sets of sliding door panels hold spacious shelved storage room within, while the top holds an open space. A small lift-away panel with an eggplant shaped handle adds a subtle touch of charm.

A fantastic pair of Chosun Dynasty Korean "grand father" guardian statues from Jeju Island. Made of local volcanic stone, dating back to the 19th century. These figures were traditionally placed in pairs and, according to legend, anyone who rubbed their noses would be blessed with fertility and the birth of a son.

Cup and saucer with Kutani aka-e (red) decoration of musing philosophers or poets, the back of the saucer with orchids. Late Edo or Meiji, c 1900. Signed Kutani. Diameter or saucer "4 ¾ / 12 cm, height of cup "2¼/ 5,8 cm. Condition: wear to the decoration, esp. to the saucer (cf. pics).
Three thin and lovely cups and saucers with underglaze blue reserves of landscapes, birds and couples against an iron-red and gilt background. All parts marked Mikawachi where most Hirado porcelain of the period was made. An extra saucer to go with the rest, without cost. Height of cups "2¼/ 5,8 cm, diameter of saucers "4/ 10 cm. Chinese Imari plate, late Kangxi to Yongzheng, early 18th century. Decoration of a fisherman and a pagoda in a mountainous seascape within diaper borders, all in underglaze blue and overglaze red and gilt. Diameter "9/ 23 cm. Condition: some roughness to the rim and small spots of wear to the well.
A superb quality very large pottery figure of a male attendant or official, dating to the earlier Ming Dynasty, 1400-1500 AD.
The figure is placed on a high hexagonal plint and wears a fine two-colour blue and turquoise glazed robe. The unglazed areas have pigmented colors in red, black and white. Finely painted facial details.
The head is attachable as often seen on the largest figures from this period.

Chinese Export Blue and White Porcelain Charger/platter, Qianlong period, 1736-1795, 12 3/4" diameter, 2" high, underglaze blue landscape design inside the fan in the center within four(4) sets of floral sprays decorated border terminated with brown rim. One(1) hairline about 2" long glaze hairline at 3 o'clock position, it is tight and not open hairline. This charger will make nice set with #1349149.
