Antique 17h -18th century Islamic Indo-Persian helmet Kulah-Khud.

The helmet's hemispherical skull is formed by hand-hammering a single piece of thick, solid steel. The interior displays visible hammer marks, while the exterior surface is entirely smooth. The skull is adorned with a long, thick spike and two plume holders.

Antique, Ming Dynasty, (1644-1911), Chinese Blue and White porcelain bowl of rounded form, standing on a short foot, a white, rich glossy glaze with an area of thick overglaze along the rim and a light bluish shade irregularly dripping down in the interior below the lip. The exterior painted in vibrant tones of blue with three large Double Happiness symbols peonies among floral scrolls.

A Fukagawa porcelain 9 1/2 inch dinner plate. Iris decoration from Chuji Fukagawa's own 19th century design book. Blue underglaze and red, yellow and gold overglaze enamel decoration including random butterflys. Mt. Fuji mark inside the foot ring. Late Meiji or early Taisho. Good condition. Antique Chinese celadon stoneware bowl with green glaze. The bowl has subtle textures, the center has a faint lotus flower encircled by an incised line, the body has radiating lines from the center, the rim of the bowl is slightly recessed. It measures 14" in diameter, 5" tall. The base has an unglazed ring where it was fired in the kiln and the unglazed ceramic can be seen.

Mask made of kiri (Paulownia) wood, showing the wide-laughing and dimpled face of god of good fortune (shichifukujin), Daikoku. The base of his hat just sitting on the top of his head.

The broad grain of the wood was used to accentuate the round cheeks, nose and nostrils. The wood was formerly stained with a reddish-brown color, now almost completely worn off. Around the eyes there are remnants of a light-colored pigment.

Chinese Rose Verte Yanyan Vase. Decorated with panels of birds among flowers and rocks, kingfisher, lotus, lion dogs and figures in a landscape. On a powder blue ground. Base with a four character Kangxi mark. 19thC. Height 18 11/4" (46.4cm). Condition; neck leans slightly and firing fault inside rim. Glaze frits to edge of base. No cracks, chips or restoration.

A thickbutted Danish neolithic axe dating to 3rd. mill BC.

The axe is polished on the sides. The shape is slightly asymmetrical, indicating that it might have been mounted as an adze.

The edge is sharp and could be used even today if mounted on a shaft.

A Chinese stoneware crackled celadon type glazed tripod censer. The vessel of circular form with rounded lip rim and twin loop handles the baluster body over triple lobed stud feet . This very well made 19th C. Chinese silver inlaid bronze incense burner is 2 7/8” high, 4 ½” wide (with handles is 7” wide). Its two handles are formed in the shape of beast heads. Two silver inlaid “Qi Lin” rising from ocean and surrounded by fire and clouds appear on either side of the piece. It has an unusual dragon mark on the bottom. It is in excellent condition.

Unusual Thai architectural sculpture known as a chofa. These beast-like ornaments embellish temple and palace rooftops as a symbol of power and protection. Natural patina and remnants of red show antiquity. A photo is shown to demonstrate how a chofa would look while still in place on a temple roof.
