This is a very refined studio vase from the Meiji era. The subtle colors and detail are truly beautiful. It is signed by one of the Japanese porcelain masters, Nishiura Enji. The work on Mt Fuji is raised relief and give off a three dimensional look. The shape is elegant and the changing colors are vry elusive. The vase stands just over 6 inches tall and is in excellent condition.

A rare antique Sado Island Funa Tansu (captain's chest) made of Keyaki (Zelkova) and Kirinoki (Paulownia) woods. All original Urushi lacquer and hand forged hand made iron hardware including the Kakute style handles. Featuring various good luck motifs including the treasure bag, the radish, the pine tree, the bamboo, the plum blossom and the Chrysanthemum. The front has a top drawer, a hinged door and a secret sliding door...

A wall plaque with dancing putti and flower garlands, possibly depicting Spring in a suite of the four seasons. Plaster, patinated and polished to look like terracotta, possibly English around 1800, likely a Grand Tour souvenir. Unmarked, the back with two copper rings for hanging. Width "11/ 28 and height "5 ½ / 14 cm. Condition: a few glaze flakes to the left side (cf. pics).

A very rare gilt bronze Buddha, Southern Thailand Sri Vijaya/Javanese inspired local style, ca. 11th.-13th. century AD.

The Buddha stands erect with his right hand raised in abhaya mudra and his left gracefully extended alongside his body

Wonderful archaic Southern SE Asian style of his face with the pronounced brows, a flat nose and thick lips. His eyes are thick and downcast and he wears a slight smile. He is standing on a square pedestal.

Japanese iron cut sword guard in silhouette of pagoda and houses in a tranquil lake landscape. Some details inlaid in gold. It feels like a long way from war. The carving is of very good quality which is not always the case on this kind of tsuba which most often are less well executed. The reliefs are very deep which gives a beautiful relief but requires more effort. The style seems to be that of the Soten school...

This massive mid or late 19th century white jade (nephrite) carved Ru-Yi scepter is 18 ½” long, 5 ½” wide (from the widest part) and 3” high (from the highest part). The whole scepter was carved from a single piece of nephrite. The carving depicts mythical figures, animals and buildings surrounded by clouds. Aside from some natural flaws in the stone, it is in excellent condition.

A pair of sterling silver berry spoons of the finest quality dating to the reign of George III. The quality of the repousse and bright cut decoration is beyond compare. The design of the bowl includes cherries, applies, pomegranates and foliage. The backs are clearly hallmarked for London, 1800 and for the maker Thomas Wallis. Excellent condition; no monograms or removals. 9" long.

This is a Qing Dinasty, 18th Century, flattened rectangular with rounded shoulders form snuff bottle, rounded short neck, and flat oval footing. It is made from fossilized Tooth. It has an orange ground with brown shades of light brown (burnt), beige and nebulous with brownish stripe and lightening-like forms going in all directions throughout the entire bottle. Fine Antique Japanese Black Lacquer Tea Caddy, rectangular with rounded corners with polychrome and gilt decoration of figures engaged in various tasks. Circa 1870.
