An 18th Century Japanese porcelain scalloped serving bowl, with lid, decorated with the Imari colors of red, blue, white, cream, and gold. The tureen measures about 9 1/4" long x 6 1/2" wide x 7" tall. The Shippo design family crest has been applied in gold on the blue panels. An authentic document signed by Gov. Alfred E Smith (NY) attesting to the fact that as requested by the Governor of Massachusetts he "surrendered" Fred W. Simmons, a fugitive from justice Dated August 17, 1927 . Smith's signature is in the lower right corner - it is also signed by counsel. The paper is folded and curled at the bottom edge; there are also two small puncture marks in the upper right corner.

This very stylish shell cameo set in a 14Kt white gold filigree frame, dates back to the 1920-s. The 33 X 45 millimeter oval cameo depicts a bust of a lady with a diamond and emerald earring. The broach is extremely versatile since a fold down swivel type bail makes it wearable as a pendant as well.
