Gracefully cast with head bent toward the ground, ears forward and with a friendly expression The oval shaped top portion of his saddle is removable and has a pierced design on the seat where the incense smoke would have escaped. Large Korean three-level kitchen cabinet (samch'ung ch'an-jang) orange-brown color finish, elm wood panels, iron hardware, top section has 2 small drawers with bat shaped hardware, top compartment opens wide with pair of double hinged doors, bottom compartment has 2 sets of doors opening to two separate compartments, beautiful overall scale and proportions, Chosun Period (c. 1900). The base is made up of several small wooden parts finely cut with flowers, scrolls and Greek motifs. The majority of the wood is dark brown, almost black, small inserted panels are made of boxwood, the barriers are made of bone. A very nice moulded Wanli period (A.D.1573-1619) blue and white kraak porcelain dish. It stands on a very short footrim with a recess base and then everted upward into a U-shaped moulded dish. In the centre of the dish, it depicts a pair of deer under a tree with flowering foilage and rocks. On the cavetto, it is painted with a two tiered brush stroke. Such almost identical dish is illustrated in Maura Rinaldi, Kraak Porcelain, London, 1989.

Rare and important head of a bearded centurion wearing his helmet, his face showing a strong and fierce expression. Polychrome wood. Eyes made of glass painted inside. Of Spanish origin, dating back to the 18th century, this head was found in the Philipines in 1978. Height: 30.3 cm. Old accidents and restorations mostly around the helmet (see photos), otherwise very good condition. NOTE: This head belonged originally to a large statue which was displayed beside a large crucifix.

A fine Lowestoft porcelain strap-handled creamboat, the ovoid molded body with an undulating rim.
