Very unusual late 19th century Japanese lacquer small table screen decorated on both sides with tsuba (Japanese sword guards). Excellent clever work with different lacquer colors and textures imitating rusting iron and cleaner silvery surfaces of different tsuba. Beautiful carved textured surface of the rest of the screen with lower layer of red lacquer and upper layer of tan colored one. Wonderful patina, in excellent condition. Height 6 7/8 inches (17.5 cm), maximum length 10 inches (25 cm).

Mexican Pre Columbian Tlatilco Terracotta female Head with elaborate hair style and traces of black pigment. Rare fragment from an early culture c 1200bc-600bc. Tlatilco is noted in particular for its high quality pottery pieces, many featuring Olmec iconography. Tlatilco figures were known for their elaborate hair styles. Size 2" by 1.75"

A beautiful pair of antique wine glasses of the light baluster form. Although these are smaller than the usual form for a Newcastle light baluster, the proportion of the pointed round funnel bowls to the stems suggests that they are, in fact, an uncommon pair of NLB's. A charming Japanese Arita porcelain shallow bowl of circular form with raised, lobed rim, decorated in underglaze blue and overglaze gilding. The dish features at the top The Three Friends (pine, prunus and bamboo), the center with a medallion depicting a cormorant, and the bottom a sea turtle over a string of coins (a symbol for wisdom, luck, protection, longevity, and in this case prosperity)...

Victorian walnut picture frame marble top table, circa 1880. The marble is white, the table has an above average base that is quite lovely. The table measures 30" tall x 32" wide x 24" deep.

Circa 1850, Chinese flattened circular form black tixi lacquer box. Decorated with alternating layers of black and red cinnabar lacquer deeply carved to create intricate designs, the box has a beautiful sheen to the surface so that the layers of lacquer simply pop! On the bottom you can see the swirling layers of black lacquer. High quality and in excellent condition, it measures 3” diameter, 1” high.

There are at least 5/6 individual style of chinese calligraphy on a fan, late Qing or republic era, by a few calligraphers unknown to me as i am not expert in Chinese calligraphy and i can't read the chinese words. To me it's nice as deco for wall as it has aged by time.

A fine Chinese Rose Medallion ladle with a mother and her child seated together. The handle is subtly gilded with the standard famille rose palette. This example dates to c. 1820 and is in excellent condition. These small but wonderful items are hard to find, and such a treat when discovered. Dimension: 5" l

A high quality and massive Mesopotamian cylinder seal carved in dark serpentine stone, North-West Mesopotamia, c. 18th.-16th. century BC.

The seal is profusely engraved with a complex depiction of deities and animals. A central godess is sort of flying with her hands touching two creatures above. A worshipper in front with hands raised. Aray of animals and smaller figures including a Centaur below.

Antique Korean blue and white porcelain water dropper. The large body is rectangular with designs of scholar rock formations and a cherry blossom branch on its top surface in underglaze cobalt blue. Two small frogs serve as air holes adding a whimsical charm to the piece.

Early 20th century Japanese square satsuma plate is 7 ¾ inches by 8 inches. It has a raised floral and peacock design with houses and a lake in the distance. It is signed ¡°Hododa¡± and is in great condition.

A small lidded jar or bowl, Kangxi period, c 1700. Clobbered in iron red, green, black and gilt over the original under-glaze blue decoration, for the European (Dutch?) market. The base with an “Asian” seal mark in iron red. Height, including lid "2¾/ 7 cm. Condition: the lid with some rubbing to the gilt, otherwise fine.

Antique Japanese Bronze sculpture extremely well modeled and superbly executed with stunning details depicting a young Japanese philosopher Kinjiro Ninomiya Sontoku carrying a bundle of firewood on his back and an axe through the back of his belt. The interior of the base is entirely inscribed in Japanese characters.

CONDITION: Very good quality workmanship with excellent natural dark patina, the right hand, carved of bone, is possibly a later replacement...

Ensemble of very old beads, I found these in a small shop in Phrae, Northeast Thailand a few years ago. It is 2.8 inches (7.2 cm) tall and 2.2 inches (5.5cm) wide. The netsuke is 1.2 inches (3 cm) by 0.97 inch (2.5 cm) wide. It is 42.9 gram.

19th century ojime (slide bead for tightening the cord going from netsuke to inro) carved as a seated monkey performing “speak no evil” routine. Nice work, pleasant patina, no chips or repairs, dust on the surface. Height 3/4 inches.

A fine Yuan dynasty longquan celadon large dish, rounded side with bracket lobbed rim and glazed base, there is a ring for firing at the base, dish decorated with rare tree motif at the center and vertical ribbing suggesting flower petal motif, dish covered with good green glaze.
Dish is in good condition no chip, no crack, no restoration, porcelain with high ping sound with finger tip.

Tall and slender jug in the shape of a storage jar for pickles or in the shape of an actual octopus pot (trap).
Grayish brown stoneware built up from coils of clay; the inside covered with green glaze, the outside left unglazed. On the outside sits a dark brown, three-dimensional octopus, the way an octopus would sit on an octopus trap under water, on its way to inspect the inside of the jug.
