Antique Korean elm wood (Keyaki in Japanese) cabinet, with gorgeous natural burl front panels. Four small drawers are along the top of this chest , with three sets of doubles doors below, decorated by brass hardware incised with auspicious symbols. Large and impressive silver 'temple' ring, Viking settlers from Scandinavia (Kingdom of the Rus or Kievan Rus), present day Ukraine, c. 800-1000 AD.

Beautiful and still wearable temple ring, in solid silver, which consists of a bow ring with a loop and three elaborately made knobbed beads. These rings were worn from a headband around the temples by Viking Rus women, hence the name Temple rings.

This is a Jinbaori (sleeveless campaign jacket worn over armor) made with kuzu cloth used by the precious natural cloth of the Edo period, the top of the samurai. The family crest is hidari - hitotsu - myoga no marumon. It is an item of the original Edo period. There are thin dirt and slight damage. This is an antique Chinese Qing dynasty letter opener from the late 19th century. It is designed as a miniature sword Jian, and the handle and scabbard are made of bone. Both sides of the bone have been scrimshaw engraved with bird and plant designs and mounted with brass fittings. The steel blade is straight, sturdy, and sharp, with a diamond-shaped cross-section. The maker's mark is stamped on the ricasso of the blade.

This antique Chinese circular lidded container was made from a single valuable horn. It is a tribute to both the horn and the skill of the craftsman. Horn can be cut, and carved, but it is not a flexible material. According to my Chinese friends, the thinner and more translucent the horn, the more it is valued. The cross-section of an ox (buffalo)horn is oval, but a Yak horn is circular. This is a prized horn. Approx 4" high and 2.5" diameter.
