A Chinese export Imari dish, Kangxi period, early 18th century. Fluted sides and decoration of peony and chrysanthemum in iron red and gilt over under-glaze blue. Diameter "10/ 25,5 cm. Condition: rim frits, a hairline and a 3 cm restoration to the rim (cf. pictures).
This wonderful pair of porcelain Chinese prunus jars combines the famous cracked ice motif with "snowing" prunus blossoms which surround 2 reserves featuring perched birds in trees. Each tree is flanked with bats, an auspicious Chinese emblem.
The inspiration for this high quality design goes back to the Kangxi period, but these vases are Republic period of very fine quality...
Antique Japanese small tansu with locking bar. Made with keyaki (elm) wood front and sugi (cryptomeria) wood sides. Each of the five drawers are different sizes making for useful storage. Nicely detailed original black Iron hardware includes square shaped handles. Beautiful crane shaped lock on one drawer and a flower shaped lock on another. A timely and quirky soy brown glazed Korean War era chopstick holder with political slogans. The left hand column translates as “support your family and the Chinese military”, the right hand “oppose America, support Korea” and the top characters “increase productivity”. Possibly used in a factory canteen this is the only ceramic I have ever seen from this brief period...
Finely cast, with a nice facial expression, the eyes downward, hands in Bhumisparsa Mudra ( calling the earth to witness). Excellent green patina. This is a small and thinly potted Song Dynasty (960 – 1276) small yingqing bowl. It stands on a short glazed foot rim and base rising to an everted c-shaped glazed body stopping short of the rim. Both the rim inside and outside of the bowl is unglazed exposing the porcellanous body.
The small yingqing bowl has abrasion, glaze crazing, pin holes and a small chip on the rim which can be seen in all the pictures. There is no repair or restoration...

An elaborately decorated lacquered sword stand. The stand is made into a small chest with three drawers. The chest is decorated with motifs of plums, a phoenix, and a Chinese style landscape with inlaid embellishments. The interior of the drawers is done in nashiji or pear skin makie. Chinese Song /Yuan Dynasty Qingbai Glazed Incised Porcelain Bowl (with characters)
This porcelain bowl with flared rim was made during the 12th - 13th Century (Late Song - Yuan Dynasty). It is fairly "heavily-potted" and coated in quite a dark greenish qingbai glaze that is finely-crackled. The rim edge remains unglazed and in places has fired to a deep reddish-brown...
Chinese Export Porcelain Famille Rose Mug, Tankard, Ca. 1736-1795, 6 1/2" high, 3" diameter-top rim, 5" wide include handle, Famille Rose bouquet of Flowers in the shaped urn or vase with low relief dots near the top rim and bottom and twisted handle. Very thin line half way circle on the unglazed bottom but I do not see nor feel the separation inside the bottom.
DESCRIPTION: A large antique porcelain plate, well decorated with a mythical Kylin gazing upward at a large bird perched in a pine tree. The decoration is in underglazed blue with a clear glaze containing a faint blue tint. The base is unglazed and unmarked showing the finely grained paste. Excellent condition, no chips, cracks or repairs; wood stand not included. DIMENSIONS: 11 1/4” diameter (28.5 cm) x 2 1/8" high (5.4 cm).
Look at this blue ! Among hundreds of Ming Minyao bowls there maybe is one piece with such a strong, amazing cobalt blue. Also the glaze of this bowl has an extreme gloss.
The execution of the cobalt blue decoration speaks also for itself.
All in all this bowl is a " must " for any high level Ming Minyao blue and white collection.
