Finely carved foo dog playing with a small ball done in Jade. The fur of the foo dog is carved in stylized scrolled motif with detail work showing each fur. Beautiful Japanese antique wedding kimono made of chirimen silk (crepe) and decorated all over with a scene of a river and blossoming plum trees in a rural pavilion setting, the design is done in a paste resist with a delicate blending of colors, silk embroidered details are accented with extensive use of gold thread and small areas of shibori technique. The kimono is lined in a salmon color silk and padded along the hem and edges of sleeves. Meiji Period. Size: 63" high x 51" wide

This early 20th century Chinese carved wood statue is 5" tall, 6 1/8" wide and 3 1/4" in depth. The statue presents the legendary Chinese character Liu Hai. This character is an eternally young boy who is always accompanied by a three legged toad. The statue presents a smiling Liu Hai seated comfortably on a rock with a whisk and straw hat on his back and the three legged toad resting on his right foot. Aside from a minor repair on his left toe, it is in great condition.

Chinese miniature quartz sculpture of a a woman with an attendant from the 19th century. The woman is robed and holding a flowering branch in her right hand, a basket in her left. The figure to her right is kneeling, with agate base. It measures 2" long, 1.25" deep, 2.5" tall.

Unusual Chinese temple corbel made of hand carved wood. With black, red, and gilt lacquer pigments, carved with the head of a dragon, a bird, and flora. Very interesting style of carving, similar to that of Mayan imagery.

The backside has a gilt imprinted 14 petal Chrysanthemum, a mark of the Imperial household. The underside of the vase is signed "Shinzui". Hardwood stand is included, along with original tomobako.
