Interesting pair of Thai Buddhist amulets with an old Buddha representation inside of Buddha seated, both encased in a thick good silver.

This is a part of a collection of extrafine Thai amulets thant we purchased recently. Many are very old and finely encased in silver and gold!

A crow at rest upon a rock raises its head in a gruff cry by Suwa Sozan I enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Karasu Okimono. It is pierced in the back, allowing it to be an oki-koro incense burner. It is 34 cm (13-1/2 inches) tall and in excellent condition. A black glazed monochrome bottle vase, decorated with phoenix on flight. Song/Yuan dynasty Jizhou ware in perfect condition excepted tiny flaked glaze to the foot rim. Height: 18,3 cm.

A rare, very decorative, Celadon glazed Alms Bowl, 18th - 19th century with its original wooden stand. Very nice Celadon glaze. The rim of the bowl covered with a dark brown wash, the unglazed footring covered with a pale brown wash. Diameter : 23,8 cm. H : without wooden stand : 13,5 cm ( With wooden stand : 22 cm. ) Condition : The bowl in perfect condition. The old wooden stand broken and re - glued.

A very beautiful schist head of a Bodhisattva, 2-4 Century AD, with soft, youthful features, wearing a diadem with rosettes. The hair is pulled up into an elaborate top knot, urna between the eyebrows. Acquired on the London (UK) Art Market prior to 1980. Mounted on a Museum Quality metal stand. Size of head alone: 12.5 cm. (5"), excluding stand. Very fine condition.

An exceptionally rare turquoise-glazed porcelain vase or flask made in the Jingdezhen kilns, Jiangxi province,China, during the reign of the Kangxi emperor (1662-1722). The neck is decorated with upright plantain leaves, each shoulder with styalized lotus scroll design and applied buddhistic lion head. The central panels front and back feature the Hehe Erxian - the twin Immortals of Union and Harmony - one holding a basket from which has been released a bat, in flight amongst clouds...

A set of four vary rare blackwood Hungmu lady's side chairs. The chairs match as a pair except for the back panels. Two have a square and two have a circle. This most likely had some meaning for the owner. Age: Mid Qing. Size: H:94cm. W:48cm. Condition: No repairs. Some looseness from age. can be fixed very easily.

Lovely large figural stele of Pavati, Eastern Java, Early Majapahit, c. 13th.-14th. cent. AD.

The figure is carved in grey-black Vulcanic rock with red iron-oxide patination.

In this sculpture the Hindu goddess Parvati, consort of Siva is represented. It was customary in Javanese sculpture of this period to identify local rulers with cult deities and it is possible that this image of Parvati is intended to represent a deceased east Javanese queen...

Small globular jar covered by celadon glazed to the foot with brown spotted; unglazed base . PERIOD : Song Dynasty 960-1279 AD. MEASUREMENTS: 6 cm wide, 5 cm hight. CONDITION: glaze chip on the body, no cracks or hairlines and free from restorations.

An antique Japanese Kyoto Mizuya Tansu (kitchen chest) in 2 sections made of Keyaki (Zelkova) and Hinoki (Cypress) woods. All original hand forged iron hardware with bronze sliding door handles and Warabite style drawer handles. 3 sets of sliding doors each set progressively larger with removable shelf behind each set. Side slats provide strength, stability and visual architectural design...

An early decorative temple carving of a Taoist deity seated on a donkey, painted in white, black, red and gold, Late Ming-early Qing dynasty, c. 16th.-17th. century.

Size: c 30 cm. tall.

Condition: Nice very fine for the type and age, intact with much of it's pigments still preserved. Minor losses and completions.

A Yuan dynasty blue and white jarlet, decorated with chrysanthemum scroll and two ring handle to the neck. Condition is very good, excepted minor fritting to the rim side, no any crack, no any chip and free from any restoration.

A fine and expressive carved stag horn netsuke of Shoki, The Demon Queller. Early 19th century.

Shoki is the Japanese styling of the Chinese spirit Chung Kui who protects households from malevolent demons. In this example the gifted carver shows Shoki studying closely, an off stage, mischievous oni whilst carefully hiding his Chinese sword close to his body.
