Water pot of squat, ovoid form with a narrow foot and slight depression of a base. The even lavender-blue tone of the glass is translucent in strong light and is well-polished on the interior as well as the exterior. Such items as this were essential for the scholar's desk and are more often seen in ceramics than in Beijing glass. This tall baluster vase is glazed in deep oxblood red that is suffused all around with patches of pale blue ranging to lavender and purple. The overall effect is somewhat reminiscent of a landscape painting. As a lamp, it retains its original brass fittings, but one socket is an old replacement. This rare cylindrical vessel has visible rings on the exterior from the potting intended to imitate a section of bamboo. The rich, raspberry-toned glaze stops evenly just above the well-cut footring. The exposed paste is smooth and white with even wear from years of use. The base is glazed white; it is finely crackled and naturally stained from use and time. A line of pale orange re-oxidation encircles the interior and exterior of the footring where the glaze stops...
This is Edo kasuri child kimono echigo-jyofu Rare. It is wonderful, beautiful kasuri. The motif looks like amaryu (raining dragon). There are a little stain and a small hole. However, the state is very good. I recommends it for your collection. Textile seems to be hand spun and woven, and has soft touch.
Echigo-jyofu was born in middle (749-756) on the age of Jomon. In it, latter term (1670-1780) was a season from the middle of Edo period...

This rectangular low table is lacquered with dark brown over all, and top decorated with
a confronted large four-clawed dragon and a long-tailed phoenix inlaid in tortoise shell,
twisted wire and mother of pearl, and amid clouds enclosed in a floral scroll-form border.
It is in very fine condition except a corner having lightly crashed (see photo).
