Opium lamp inserted in a sort of cylindrical cage. A chain attached to the top of the cage allows an easy transportation of the lamp. The lamp can entirely be taken to pieces (see photo). Brass and glass. China, 19th century. Height: 6 5/8" (17 cm). Very good condition.

This is a pair of glass bowls with saucers that are of a deep, even amethyst tone with high translucency. The pieces are molded, then turned, having highly polished interiors. The two bowls have well-carved pronounced footrings. The backs of the saucers retain the mold shapes, but with a glossy polish.

The wood tray is 16.1 inches (41 cm) long by 18.1 inches (46 cm) wide and 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) tall. The dishes are 1.2 inches (3.1 cm) tall by 5.3 (13.5 cm) to 6.1 inches (15.5 cm) long and 3.1 inches (8 cm) to 4.7 inches (12 cm) wide. The total weight is 5.8 lb.

19th century iron sukashi Japanese sword tsuba for tanto with design of a turtle with a very long tale. The subject may be a minogame (turtle with a long tail made from seaweed and algae accumulated from many years leaving in the sea) or a directional animal - the Black Snake-Tortoise of the North. Clever design and nice detailed work (see its carapace), a bit of rust, overall in very good condition. Height 2.16 inches.
