LARGE RICE WASHER
Massive bowl hollowed out from a single tree, with primitive grooves at inner surface (as funtional design for catching pebbles for cleaning rice up when washing rice) and simple but also functional chiseled-grips at outside, early 20th century, Korea, approx. D 39-39.5 x H 15.5-16.5cm (15.35-15.55 x 6.10-6.49in). Some expected scratches and damage due to aging, but in generally good condition as is.

18th to early 19th century Japanese bronze kozuka (sword knife) handle with low relief decoration of Kanzan and Jittoku looking at an open scroll. According to a legend, Kanzan and Jittoku lived in a kitchen of a Chinese Zen Buddhist monastery and talked nonsensical language, which some took as a sign of them being enlightened.
