Chinese Export Cafe au Lait Porcelain Tea pot, made later part of Qianlong period 1736-1796, 5" high with knob, 7 1/2" wide with spout and handle included. Iron red and black overglaze decoration of flowering branches highlighted in gold inside the leaf shape open cartouches on both sides and another smaller cartouches under the handle. Only two(2) small very shallow old frits, the size of 1/8" inside the unglazed area of the top rim.

This carved wood box is lacquered in a deep red tone and in brownish black on the leafy area. The interior and base are lacquered in black. There are various nicks and scuffs from use and age. The interior retains its shiny finish, while the exterior had acquired a soft luster from age and wear. Acquired in Kyoto, Japan in the early 1970s.

Red Lacquered Papier Mache Pencil Box, beautifully painted of children at play in gold and other soft colors near the bridge, 1 1/4" high, 8 5/8" x 3 3/4" wide. This pencil box has divided interior and hinged top with small round brass button in front to operate the openings and closing when you push the brass button. The lacquer painting on top of the lid is in good condition. There are some red lacquer losses under the top and inside.
