Purchased over 40 years ago at Restoration Hardware, this archaic style bronze ram's head was the only piece they had in their store. I suspect it was a decorative item that RH purchased as an accent piece for one of their room settings. The holes on this reproduction ram indicates that the original bronze ram was affixed to an instrument. An impressive piece, this was probably made in the first decade of the 20th C Measures 14" long, 7.5" high, and 12" across the horns.

Rare 5th Century Korean Gaya Water Jar of Classic Form, Color, and Design. The decoration is incised into the clay between the carved bands before firing. Gaya was a confederation of small states independent from and influential on the the Silla Kingdom and its pottery, until Silla annexed Gaya in the 6th Century.
