18th century painted wood netsuke of a sennin (Chinese sage) wearing a tattered robe and holding a bamboo stick in his hand and a double gourd on his shoulder. Netsuke represents Chokwaro sennin - a Chinese sage who could summon the magic horse out of his gourd to be transported wherever he wanted. Beautifully carved solid mahogany server by R.J. Horner, New York measuring 72" long x 24" deep x 39" high. The front legs have carved women with garlands of flowers. There are 2 spring loaded drawers in the front. This great piece of furniture is in wonderful condition and will fit beautifully in a dining room or hallway.
A Korean, buncheong, white glazed bowl; C15-16th, Joseon dynasty.
The bowl is covered with white slip to it's interior; the slip terminates short of the foot. The whole was then covered in a clear glaze, which shows a green-blue colour where it has pooled. Five stacking support marks may be seen to the interior of the bowl. Remnants of stacking supports may also be seen to the fully glazed foot.
The diameter of the bowl is 18.2 cm.
The glaze condition is good...

Set of 12 English Mintons Porcelain Cobalt blue and Etched Gold border Dinner plates, 10 1/4" diameter, 1" high, with brilliantly encrusted and raised gold border on top of the
cobalt blue wider border, and impressed mark "Mintons Est. 1793 England", "g6262" in Red plus impressed mark on the bottom. The condition is very good, no damages, gold etched raised borders have some reflections from the camera settings, all in excellent condition.

Antique Japanese tsuba (hand guard for a samurai sword), made all of iron and cast in the form of a daikon raddish. The leafy tops of the daikon are highly raised and the raddish root itself twists around becoming the circular rounded edge of the tsuba. Wonderful three dimensional quality. Edo Period.

Antique 16th century Turkish Ottoman gold gilt-copper (Tombak) Islamic Amulet case (Ta'wiz-Muska) of hexagonal cylindrical form the bottom part adorned with engraved ornament. The upper part with two small integral rectangular suspension loops, allow the amulet to be suspended with a silk cord from the neck. originally held a Qur’anic verse.
According to the previous owner, this amulet case was found before World War II on the Mohacs battlefield in Hungary...

A choice example of a of a large Wadj Sceptre in brown hardstone, with the stone aiming to imitate rolled papyrus.
The scroll is widest at the top, where there is a neck below the faux loop for suspension. The base tapers into a softened point. Such an amulet would have been for ritual buriel.

Exceptional Pair of Italian Bronze and Ormolu Candlesticks with nicely detailed foliate decoration and with good patina and fine castings. Having a removable ormolu drip pan above a bronze candle cup and supported by a turned and foliate decorated column with a tripartite scrolling ormolu base and mounted on a tripartite bronze plinth. These would have been brought home as a souvenir by someone who had made the Grand Tour. Italy, circa 1870.

This pair of Guang Xu Period (1875~1908) Guan Yao ¡°Imperial Kiln¡± fruit stands are 2 ¾ inches tall and 9 ¼ inches in diameter. They depict black and white sparrow and flowers on a turquoise background. They have three separate floral designs on the back of the stands and a black lace like design on the foot. There are a few tiny chips on the rims and the color has slightly rubbed off. Four old repairs close to the rim two on each stand.

This is a fine example of an Indus Valley culture decorated pottery vessel. It has a chip to the rim as well as a repair which should be visible in the photos. Otherwise it appears to be in great condition with no other apparent damage or repair. It is roughly 16 cm tall and 13 cm wide.

Sensational Mokubei (lived 1767-1833) scholar figurine in polychrome enamels. Famous as a potter working for the Lord of Kii and later the Lord of Kaga where he opened his own kiln. A rare mid 17th Century conical form bowl decorated to the exterior with playful buddhistic lions and peony sprays. Very unusual late Qing Dynasty (1890s to 1911) Chinese scholar’s rock in a form of a natural mineral cluster wonderfully resembling a prickly pine tree. The stone is many-sided, providing different complete views. Beautiful object with extraordinary rich textured surface, fixed in newer fitted hardwood stand. I believe the mineral to be aragonite. Tall Chinese Song dynasty brown glazed tapering form horizontal ribbed vase. The glaze was poured into the interior while the top shoulder of the jar was left unglazed. 14” high. Circa 13th century. The unglazed base has significant grit adhering from the kiln which causes the vase to be slightly slanted and a bit unstable. There are small chips along the rolled mouth. Late Meiji (1900s) Japanese ceramic chawan (tea bowl) for tea ceremony decorated with what appears to be dumbbell shaped percussion instruments. Dark brown stoneware body, beautiful Satsuma type glaze with wonderful fine crackling, multicolored enamels with gold. Excellent free potting, wonderful sense of energy to the piece, great object in Japanese taste, in perfect condition. Stamped with a potter’s seal in unglazed area by the foot. Offered is this superb, hand-painted English vitrified glass vase, made by Richardson around 1850. The vase has Etruscan paintings. It is signed on its polished pontil - Richardson's signature of vitrified glass objects is shown on page 447 of Charles R.
