Strand of Yuan to Ming Dynasty white “milk” glass trade beads excavated from the Tak Hilltop burial site along the Thai Burmese border. These can be dated to the14th to 16th CE because they were found the same strata as easily datable Chinese and Vietnamese ceramics. Please examine enlargements for condition. 18th century Japanese sword iron tsuba with pierced “thousand shrimp” design and brass inlay of twisted rope. Excellent piece with numerous perforations requiring enormous amount of work, precise detailing, dark brown patina, in excellent condition. Height 3.15 inches.

A two-handled solid silver bowl made around 1890. Unmarked, but its shape and the pierced pattern with crescents and six-pointed stars indicates a Russian and Jewish origin. Tested for a silver content of 800 / 1000 (minimum). Weight 157 grams, width "4 ½ / 11 cm and height "2 ½ / 6 ½ cm. Condition: fine.

Chinese Ming Dynasty Glazed Pottery Sedan Chair (16th Century)

A pottery model of a sedan chair made during the 16th century (c.1550 - 1600). Made from a hard creamy-white pottery and coated in complimentary green and golden-brown glazes that in places have acquired a silvery iridescence, a result of long exposure to moisture. This civil official's rank badge is embroidered on silk with silk and metallic wrapped silk threads, and has a medium blue woven silk backing. There is splitting to the silk background and loose metallic threads, as well as some losses to the silk backing.

Rare Chinese Warring States Covered Pottery Stem Jar (475 - 221 BC)

This attractively-shaped pottery vessel with its flared foot and pear-shaped body was made during the Warring States period (475 - 221 BC). It is "heavily-potted", made from a fine-grained grey pottery and has a smooth burnished surface. Although not immediately obvious, the outer wall of the cover has been lightly decorated with thin lightly incised or polished bands.

Chinese Ming Dynasty Glazed Pottery Cabinet (16th Century)

A pottery model of a tall wooden cabinet made during the 16th century (c.1550 - 1600). Made from a hard creamy-white pottery and coated in a green glaze that has, in places, acquired a silvery iridescence, a result of very long exposure to moisture. The details suggests this is a model of a cabinet that would have had two opening doors above which are three drawers.

Very clever piece with minimal carving beautifully capturing the essence of the animal, graceful flow to the natural lines of the root. Fine Chinese Han Dynasty Burnished Pottery Cup

This fine & rare pottery cup was made some 2,000 years ago during the Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 220), or possibly a little earlier. It is very well-made from a fine-grained grey pottery. This inner mouth and outer surface have a smooth burnished surface making it a real pleasure not only to view, but also to handle. This is a set of woman's tobacco case and pipe case which are made of deer skin and has fine katazome ( stencil-dyeing ) komon pattern. The motif is pine needle. It has beautiful clasp of green bean motif which shows prominent craftsmanship in this age. The set also has a pipe, but it seems that it is not an original one as it is shorter than the case. 19th century. In good condition except for some patina.
