This is a yellow mat glazed brush pot from the renown Chinese potter Wang Bingrong. The brush pot is potted in high relief depicting a scene of a pair of birds perching on the willow tree on a breezy day and with another bird flying towards it. Behind it is a lovely poem describing the lively scenary. Circa late 19th / early 20th century

Suspended from a small leather belt loop, this old Mongolian pipe pouch has trekked a long way. This ethnographic relic was clearly hand-made, with a simple closure of leather thongs tied into a traditional knot, and a few beads add a decorative element. For pipe cleaning, there is added piece of twisted metal wire decorated with green thread. Approx 12" long and about 3" at the widest point. It is a relic from a nomadic ethnic culture and its condition.....

This early 20th century Famille Rose square brush holder is 5 1/4 inches high and 3 inches wide. It depicts four legendary beauties; Wang Zhao Jun, Yang Gui Fei, Diao Chan and Xi Shi. It is in excellent condition.

This is a small porcelain brush washer in the shape of a half persimmon with large scallop rim in mat gold colour. The interior is glazed in uneven turquoise colour. This is a late Qing dynasty piece probably of the early 20th century.

There is no crack, chip, glaze fritting, repair or restoration. There is only a minor firing fault as shown in picture no. 6 and minor bubble burst on one of the bud. Overall, it is in good condition...

Beautiful and dramatic antique Japanese isho tansu (clothing chest) from the Nihonmatsu area, 2-sections, made with keyaki wood front and sugi wood frame, safe box with key, lovely original deep red/orange translucent lacquer finish, iron hardware, Meiji Period (1868-1912). Size: 47 1/2" high x 45 1/4" wide x 18 1/2" deep.

Decorated with four stylized panels revealing the Buddha on the lotus throne, the background is painted with flower and leafy scrolls, with a mark reads “Yung Cheng” on the bottom.

Lime box of round shape, its lid with embossed decor of the Buddhist Wheel of the Law on top, foliage design under it, surmounting a series of dragons in clouds below, the whole on an elaborate tiny lotus decor. The sides of the lid are decorated with a geometric incised design of a cross and a kind of Greek key. The sides of the body of the box are also decorated with this cross and Greek key design. This small elaborate Buddhist monk's medicine bottle is sewn into a larger pouch of burgundy homespun wool fabric with yellow/gold silk lining. When worn, the stopper would be securely held in the bottle by a system of handmade cords and bands. The medicine bottle would be worn outside the robes and suspended on the Monk's belt. These were used for both travel and ceremonies.

A rare 16th Century AVA Period Limestone Head of Buddha (Burma, 1287 - 1752) with sweeping eyebrows over downcast eyes, typical of Ava art-style, well modeled lips and elongated ears. Carved in high relief as most likely originally set against a back slab. Condition good, one small chip on tip of nose. This head has been nicely mounted on a black stand.
