19th century netsuke depicting a group of three turtles - one large, and two smaller ones climbing on its back. Superb quality work, stained dark brown with natural color showing on the carapace of one of them, beautiful patina. Serious classic netsuke in excellent condition. Length 1.34 inches.
Throughout Chinese history, the Phoenix has been associated with the female principle and, most importantly, with the Empress. This large, reticulated bronze plaque retains excellent detailing and significant amounts of its original gilding. It measures just under 4" in height and slightly more than 4" in width. Ex Hong Kong art market early 1990's.
19th century Chinese fan shape ivory carving with stand. One side depicts the popular legendary story of Madame White Snake; the other side presents a short outline of the story. Japanese Meiji Period bronze USUBATA vase. The vase sits on a tripod base and has the design in silver inlays of a small rocky island with pine trees under the moonlight and with the ocean with waves around it. Stamped KAMETANI on the bottom. The vase measures 11 1/2" tall, 12 3/4" diameter at top and 7 1/2" diameter at base.
Burmese bronze reliquary stupa which opens by a simple turn locking jig. The stupa in Sanskrit means heap or mound. The stupa's hemispherical structure containing remains of Buddhist monks or nuns is called "sarira". The reliquary is also used in place of meditation. This Sui Dynasty (581~618) yellow burial horse is 10 1/2” high, 11 ¾” long and 5 ¾” wide. It depicts a battle horse wearing a leather saddle and a draped saddle cloth. Aside from an old repair on the tail and part of the neck, it is in great condition.

A silver washer was nicely in floral shape and was decorated on the side with motifs of bamboo troves.
The beautiful pattern was well rendered by excellant chiselling and engraving workmanship.
Nice and darken patina was yielded when some old restorations were found in portions.

Antique Japanese fubako, box for holding letters. Made of lacquered wood with a design of young pine and blossoming plum branches. Both box and lid are decorated in maki-e gold and silver lacquer over a delicate nashiji on a black lacquer ground. The interior has clouds of dense gold nashiji and two mon on the underside of the lid.

This is another antique wine bottle of the Song Dynasty from our collection.
This large wine bottle is about 1000 years old and has been made in the Ji Kiln. It has a dark glazed body with an some unglazed dragon / phoenix decoration.
It is in good condition. There are only some little spoils of time and a little scratch ( please watch photos )...
18th century or earlier unsigned iron Japanese sword tsuba depicting four scholars and an attendant boy in a bamboo grove. Nicely designed piece with copper, bronze and silver inlays with gilding, old deterioration to both top and bottom part, but the design and detailing is there - see their faves and robe patterns. Great example of early work. Height 3.14 inches.
Chinese yixing zisha teapot from Tek Sing cargo, Daoguang period. 11 cm wide, 7cm body diameter, 6,5cm high. There is chipped at the spout and inside the lid (please see on the pictures).
This middle or late 19th century snuff bottle has a white background and is hand painted in copper red and cobalt blue with an old sage and his servant. It is 3 inches tall and 1½ inches wide. The cap and spoon are replacements (not in the picture). It is in good condition.
Dismountable miniature bow of Geïshas. Some prints show us Geïshas using such a bow. Excellent quality, nice shakudo, silver and gilded bronze mounts well chiseled. The wooden parts are finely carved like a violin bow. It is stored in a box with 3 drawers where 16 arrows are set, most of them with golden characters. The arrows are made of wood and bone spiral or tinted green, and are weighted by a steel tip, some parts are lacquered and gilded...
A very interesting set of 5 porcelain bowls with monochrome glaze, marked with maker's mark. China, late Qing or early Republic. H. 6,5 cm, Diameter 11 cm. Condition: small piece of glaze is missing on the inside bottom of the green bowl, the same bowl has a minor glaze imperfection on the outside. The rest of the set is in mint condition.
