Unusual Japanese gyosho bako tansu (merchant's chest). With original red lacquer finish, this large piece holds three very deep drawers, each with squared kakute iron pulls on stylized pine tree mounts. The top drawer features a large central lock with flying crane motif, while the lower drawers feature chrysanthemum locks. The sides of the tansu also have two handles for traveling.

Japanese carved bone three(3) monkey design Fan Holder, Meiji period, 1 1/8" high, 2 1/4" wide, 1/2" deep, with opening on the bottom and wider opening on the top, carved serious money faces with black enameled wide eyes. There are some stains and wears on the surface.

1920's Chinese Silver White Jade Carved Goldfish, Shrimp & Crab Necklace

It is 20.27 inches (51.5 cm) in length. The inner circumference is 17.7 inches (45 cm). The jade carved goldfish range from 20.88 mm to 21.80 mm in length. It weighs 40.4 gram.

The silver is tarnished and has surface wears and scratches. Two of the jade goldfish have flea bite chips. Some of the jade carved gold fish have inclusions and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos)...

On the shoulder is a low relief moulded frieze depicting a number of animals and a figure on horseback in what is possibly a hunting scene. This is an old Chinese inkstone has hand carved ox with head turned toward the natural "dragon's eye" moon. There are some chips along the edges of the ink stone and areas of natural inclusions. It is a very fine grain quality stone, dating to the early 1800's and measures 6 x 4.5 inches, and a bit over .5 inches thick.

Japanese three-section kimono tansu made from kiri wood, its mid and bottom section has five long drawers with round metal lockplates that slide open to reveal a keyhole, and two warabite handles adorned with flora. The topmost section of the tansu has two smaller drawers with a single handle each, topped with two sliding panel doors, opening to a shelved interior and two more small drawers with adorable twin fish handle pulls.
