This is a nice conical shaped Song dynasty (960 – 1276) medium size bowl of light grayish glaze. It stands on a short foot rim and recessed base rising to an everted conical shaped glazed body stopping short of the rim, exposing the stoneware of light grey colour. On the inside of the bowl, along the cavetto, it is incised with a cloud like motif with light combed hair line mark. Sculpture of the Bodhisattva Jizo, standing with a jewel in his left hand. His right hand points down to the earth in a welcoming gesture. The sculpture was built according to the yoseki saigu technique of separate blocks. Originally a layer of gesso covered the wood, over which black lacquer. The lacquer and gesso have come off from most of the sculpture, revealing finely written sutras or Buddhist texts in black ink all over the body of the figure.

This extremely rare 6 1/2" angular owl effigy pipe was found by Dr. Allen Heflin in 1958 at the Tzintzuntzan, Michoacan site in Mexico. It is type 3A. The pupil of the right eye is missing. This is truly a fabulous pipe of which only a few exist in private collections.

This is a rare cloisonne bowl from Gonda that features 16 wireless egrets. This bowl is stoutly made and is heavy. It measures 7 inches across and is 5 1/4" tall. The condition is very good with some expected wear. The bowl has 2 very minor, under the surface lines that can be seen in the last image.

This is a beautiful cloisonne bowl, not signed but likely from Ando. The condition is excellent. The workmanship is better quality than most and the Koi are even better in person. Rims appear to be bronze. The bowl measures 6 inches across and is 4 inches tall.

This is a small Ming dynasty longquan or celadon vase. The longquan vase stand on a short foot rim with a recessed base. The outer footrim is slightly shaved inward. From the footrim, it everted upward into a bulbous body and then narrow upward to a long thin neck with a slightly widen rim mouth. Longquan vase of such shape is harder to come by compared to the longquan/celadon plate or bowl.
