Antique Japanese long silk altar cloth embroidered with three phoenix birds, also called Hou-ou birds. The mythical birds represents fire, sun, justice, obedience, fidelity, and the southern constellations. The phoenix also symbolizes the imperial household, specifically the empress. Tall Japanese Sumida Gawa tankard with 6 mugs. All have the same potter's mark. Mugs measure 5" high, Tankard is 9.5" high. All are in very good condition except for a missing piece from the scroll on one mug, and broken thumb on another. Dates early 20th century.

This is a wonderful little censer from one of the great Meiji era satsuma artists. This beautiful piece glows with quality and is like looking at a fine jewel. Signed Shizan on the underside and the remains of an import sticker can still be seen. Condition is excellent. It measures 3 tall and is 3 1/4 wide.

This is a late southern Song dynasty black glazed eight lobed ewer. It stands on a short recessed base exposing the buff colour earthen clay material. The glaze is generally preserved.

Antique Japanese solid ebony hardwood cha tansu, for storing and displaying tea ceremony articles. In twisted body posture, the beast or dragon with bulging eyes, wide mouth and extruding fangs was supposed a peaceful animal by the pattern on his back, a swirling TaiChi cloud.
The sculpture was well preserved except the abrasions down under due to age.
