Fine attention to detail has been paid to the handmade figures of a seated man with a cane facing a young boy, both supported by craggy rockwork ledges...

Lidded box, a soap box of quatrefoil ogee shape. Decoration of a garden family scene and a Qilin procession in the soft Famille rose colours of the Tongzhi period but later, probably c 1920. Stamped Tongzhi mark to the base, and a Beijing shop sticker. Length " 4½/ 11 cm, height without the handle "2/ 5,5 cm. Condition: slight wear (cf. pics).

In very good condition,the bamboo stick was preserved with nice patina and can be as firm as being used now. A new plastic plug was added at the tip.

Suspended from a small leather belt loop, this old Mongolian pipe pouch has trekked a long way.
This ethnographic relic was clearly hand-made, with a simple closure of leather thongs tied into a traditional knot, and a few beads add a decorative element. For pipe cleaning, there is added piece of twisted metal wire decorated with green thread.
Approx 12" long and about 3" at the widest point.
It is a relic from a nomadic ethnic culture and its condition.....

A 21" Meiji period patinated bronze koro with bamboo shaped handles, six panels depicting small birds, and with a kirin resting atop the lid.
A small Japanese mimikuchi shaped vase, with spiral design, used to hold the burn incense sticks. The burner is about 3 7/8" tall x 4" in diameter and dates to the turn of the Century. The condition is excellent/perfect, and it has been polished. The asking price includes shipping within the USA.
