This is a very fine and beautiful small famille rose tea pot. The design is that of a beautiful water scene of a very lively, detailed and bright orange-red goldfish swimming among green seaweeds. This Japanese netsuke is a lovely example of deer antler carved into a duo of abalone shells, the smaller resting on the surface of the larger shell. The piece has a wonderful old patina and is very tactile to the touch. The himotoshi are large and deep and there appears to be a very worn signature to the underside. This is a finely hand-carved netsuke in Kurogaki (Black Persimmon) wood of a Lotus Seed Pod, made as a Karakuri or 'trick' Netsuke in that the seeds rattle and peep out of the seed holes. Netsuke was carved by an unknown artist from the Iwami Province sometime during the Early 19th centuries. This is indigo dye cotton tsutsugaki textile futon cover at the edo-Meiji era. Very auspicious, brave hawk and pine tree design. The material is thick indigo-dyed cotton. The technique of indigo dyeing Tsutsugaki is very good and beautiful. It is unused and has no stains or damage. The state is excellent. It is a very valuable gem. Please add it to the collection.
