A very unusual basket made of pine cones bound together on edge enclosed in the original wooden box dated New Years of Showa Six (1931) titled Chiyo no Matsukasa (Cones of the Ancient Pine). The basket is 20 cm (8 inches) diameter, 33.5 cm (13-1/4 inches) tall and comes with the original bamboo insert. It is in overall fine condition. I have never seen another like it.

Pair of Chinese blue and white porcelain cups, with small hand carved hardwood wood stands. Each cup has a calligraphy inscription with two chops, imagery of flying cranes and a house below a pine tree. Each cup is signed with two character mark on the foot.

19th Century, Boxwood Netsuke finely hand-carved boxwood netsuke depicting a seated Hotei, the god of Contentment and Happiness, smiling and holding a Fan on his right hand. Signed Shogyoku on the bottom of the netsuke. Nice compact form; wonderful symmetry and patina. Netsuke measures 1.60 inches (4.,0cm) in diameter, and 1.15 inches (2.9cm) tall. It is in excellent condition, as you may be able to see in the posted photos.

A genuine late 17th to mid 18th century hand made openwork European grade sterling pierced strainer or ladle with a gilded bowl. This unusual 8" ladle has a gilt and pierced 2-3/8" x 2" bowl with a pouring lip, and would be a slightly higher than 800 grade silver. Late Meiji Japanese Bizen pottery ware chaire (tea caddy for storing powdered green tea used in tea ceremony) with slender body of rounded triangular section and narrow mouth. An antique Medieval 13th-14th centuries A.D. (597 AH – 803 AH) Egypt. Islamic Mamluk period footed dish. The red clay body of a shallow, circular form with an everted rim rests on three short cabriolet legs.

The interior is painted under the glaze in dark brown on an amber color background with a large flower head with cusped lip formed by a central bud with eight emerging petals.
