This porcelain ewer was produced in England by Coalport in the 1890s. The ewer measuresm7 1/8 inches tall and has a diameter of 3 1/4 inches. The ground color is cream with a hint of yellow. The glaze is very smooth and ivory-like. It is decorated with raised enamel beads or jewels. There are flower form ornaments with a tiny dot of turquoise in the middle. Swags of orange beads are joined together with raised gold ornaments. There is delicate gold decoration inside the mouth of the ewer...

19th century Chinese rock crystal seal in a shape of a tall and narrow mountain peak characteristic of Southern China. Very beautiful stone with few natural cloudy areas by the bottom, excellent quality carving of 4 sunken characters on the bottom, very fine polish to the surface. Traces of red seal paste in the grooves, imprint of the seal is shown on Enlargement 1. Several tiny nicks to edges as to be expected on an old piece. Very good object for scholar’s table. This antique pair of Chinese lotus shoes were worn by a woman in He Bei Province during the end of the 1800's. Small bits of Leather are nailed to the heals because the women of that time liked the sound of the heal hitting the floor as they walked. A delicate floral motif was carefully embroidered to both sides of each shoe.
there are no rips and no tears but clearly these shoes were worn numerous times.

This is a large, deeply molded sculpture which would have been used to make appliques for attachment to larger vessels. The piece is 4-5/8" in length and its interior depth is more than 1". It depicts a lotus pod and comes with a rubberized impression. A beautiful piece of sculpture in its own right.
This Japanese hibachi is made from a single piece of Kiri wood, aka paulownia. A design of thick raised gold lacquer, aka Makie depicts Botan peony plant with added colors of pink and green for definition of flower and a single leaf. Hibachi comes with the original copper insert and the condition is very good. A couple of hard to find scratches and tiny (pinheadsize) dents on the top rim. Hibachi dates from late Meiji period. The size is approx 6.5" diameter x 6” high
Japanese antique choba tansu (merchant's chest) with kannon-biraki cabinet doors (opening outward on hinges). The doors open to reveal one interior shelf. These door panels as well as the safe box door are both removable. (The hinge pins are built into the door side of the lock and slot into the hinges on the tansu frame.) This pair of carved ivory emperor and empress are early 20th century export pieces. The emperor is 14 ¼” high with base (without base, it is 12 5/8” high), 2 ½” wide and 2” thick. The empress is 13 ½” high with base (without base, it is 12” high), 2 ½” wide and 2” thick. The emperor is holding a sword and the empress is holding a Ruyi. The robes are very well carved with dragon and phoenix design. They are in excellent condition.

Seated on a rockwork throne, with an open book in one hand and holding a boy on her lap with the other, between a vase with applied prunus and a bird, above two well modelled acolytes, the Jade Maiden, Longnu and the Golden Youth, Shoukai. Kangxi C1690/1700. Ht.8.0" (20.2cm). Condition: excellent, a 0.6cm glaze crack in the firing fault on her back.
