Glazed overall with a blue-tinged clear glaze with underglaze iron oxide coloring the peach and portions of the monkey. The base is unglazed. Molded with a large opening for brushes and two smaller apertures for holding flower stems. Very good condition, minor wear but no damage or repairs.

19th century tall walrus tusk netsuke of standing Gama sennin (Chinese sage) with his usual companion - magic frog - climbing onto his head. Beautifully stylized carving with oversized hands, great face and beautiful flow of the robe. Old age lines, excellent patina, overall in great condition. Signed KOSHIN on the back - the artist is listed in NETSUKE & INRO ARTISTS AND HOW TO READ THEIR SIGNATURES by George Lazarnick, p. 676. Height 4 1/8 inches (103 mm).

A very rare sample of Yuan dynasty shufu qingbai ewer, this shard is decorated with moulded phoenix ilustration , there is good sample large size of ewer. this shards is very good for studying and comparison to any one who interested in studying early Chinese porcelain.

A Fine Koren Carved Wood Folk Wedding Duck: Korea, 19th Century Carved with a lozenge-form body with a flat, oval base and a fitted with a detachable neck and head which fit into a round hole in the body, painted in black pigment with two eyes, its beak has two holes for fiting laces, it has old rich dark patina on the surface. This wedding duck is superb piece of Korean folk sculpture, warm and compelling in this derectness and naivete. It’s in good condition...

19th century Chinese soapstone seal carved on the top with a crouching rooster, its head turned right. Wonderful carving, beautiful patina and obvious wear attesting to the age of the object. 19th century netsuke in kagamibuta (“mirror lid”) with cinnabar lacquer top carved with the character FUKU (fortune) among peony flowers. Essentially the netsuke is a wish for wealth. Very nice work, beautiful patina, compressed dust in crevices, nice old wooden bowl, with rotating peg that serves as himotoshi. Bowl diameter 1.72 inches.

Late Qing Dynasty (1880s to 1911) Chinese bronze incense burner in a shape of a standing mandarin duck with its head raised. Wings and tail are decorated in champleve technique with red, green, blue, turquoise and yellow enamels with designs referring to ancient Chinese bronzes. The wings of the creature form a removable cover that fits perfectly. Excellent quality casting - see the head with incised lines around its beak and eyes, and detailing of its webbed feet...

Boro small rug or a part of it which is made of almost countless fragments of vegetable indigo dye cotton. In cold districts, such as Tohoku and along the Japan Sea area, cultivation of cotton was difficult and cotton cloth was precious in old days, so that people bought fragments of cotton and made them to noragi, futonji, rugs and so on. It is 61.3 inches (156 cm) in circumference by 32.7 inches (83.2 cm) wide. The herb powder beads are 0.45 inch (1.14cm) in diameter. There are 91 herb powder beads, 21 small Peking glass beads, 4 large green Peking glass beads, and 1 Peking glass head. It weighs 0.55 Lb.

A large and imposing bronze image of the Songzi Niangniang (‘The Lady who Brings Children’), a primary Daoist deity. Fine expression and details. Covered with a dark brown patina all-over. Ming dynasty, most probably Wanli period (1573–1619), a time when it is known that large number of Daoist images were made. ****H 38 cm. ****Condition: Generally very fine. Minor remains of cold gilt and colouring. One tip of a finger broken off.

Pure Aka-Raku Chawan by the 9th generation Raku Ryonyu (Raku Kichizaemon IX) 楽了入 (9代 楽吉左衛門) enclosed in its originally signed and sealed wooden box and made around the beginning of 19th century about 200 years ago during the Edo era.

This Raku chawan is particularly endowed with a structural power deriving from simple composition of features of a bowl - another reminiscence of the earlier generations of this unique family of artists.
