Chinese gilt lacquer wall carving, hand carved with whimsical scenes of court people. A gentleman is seen riding on the back of a Qilin while his advisor follows. One lady peeks her head from the window beside another lady arranging flowers. A small child is also shown arranging flowers. Possible a fragment from a bed. Dates from 18th/19th century.

An antique Japanese Kadai (display stand for Ikebana and Tea Ceremony) made of Keyaki (Zelkova) wood. Cut from the root trunk of the tree forming a solid top with few air pockets and a multi-leg base providing natural stability. Beautiful wood grain and natural art form.

19th century Chinese Famille Rose Melon shape Porcelain Jar, Ca. mid 1800's, 11 1/2" high, 8 1/2" wide-middle widest part, 3 3/4" diameter-top rim, with overglaze Famille Rose color of mother and children are playing in the garden on one side and two(2) bats are flying on the other side. Few old chips inside the top rim and kiln crazing on the bottom, no cracks or hairlines.

Good bamboo handled knife with hand forged blade from the Karen ethnic group Northern Thai/Burma border. Total length 31cm/12in with good sharp edge- small nick at the tip off the blade which could be honed out, about 60 years old.

Antique Chinese agate pendant hand carved into a leaf with lightly serrated edges. A small insect is carved into a small area of orange agate with delicately carved legs. Early 19th century. Mounted on a sterling silver chain. Size: 1.25" L, pendant hangs 8"

This wrist rest is carved in low relief of an official and his attendant in an architectural setting. The carving is well executed with precise line incising. It has an overall reddish brown patina and a slight blackish stain from ink on the official's hand and just above it. The underside shows approximately the same patina, while the cut edges have darkened with use...

An antique set of four Indonesian betel nut cutters. Three of the smaller cutters are made with mixed metals and iron; One with the head of a goose, one with the head of a serpent, and one shaped as a peacock. The largest of the set is hand-carved into a playful dog.

The practice of betel nut chewing is common in many parts of South Asia. Slices of the areca nut would be wrapped in betel leaves and chewed, giving a mild stimulant effect...

The toad and the frog, referred to by the same term in Japanese (kaeru) are associated with good luck and wealth. Kaeru means both "toad" and "coming home" in Japanese. This extension of meaning is due to the ability of the toad to return to the pond of its birth every year...

Antique Japanese carved wooden panel depicting a pair of pheasants. The male is seated on a blossoming cherry branch while the female looks up at him from near a spray of bamboo. Beautifully carved and painted with intricate details. The frame is lacquered.

Chinese Tang dynasty "Xing Yao" flower shape bowl. 10,5 cm diameter. bowl found from the river. Good condition except small glaze chipped. Free from any repair.

Fine Tall Chinese Tang Dynasty Painted Pottery Horse & Rider

This fine and elegant pottery model of a horse and rider was made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). It is made from a buff-coloured pottery that has been "cold painted" in various coloured pigments. The horse stands alert with its head turned a little to its left. The riders sits with is body turned to his left with arms outstretched.

This is quite large example with a height of 38 cm (15 inches)...

A rare Tang dynasty Xing ware white glaze vase with dish shape rim, vase is in good condition no chip no crack no restoration, size: 12.5 cm height.
