Very rare architectural element beautifully carved in the shape of a celestial being, maybe Garuda, flying and holding a vessel in his hands. Wood, with dark-brown patina. This small Japanese ivory okimono is a mid-19th century product. It is 4 1/8″ high, 1 3/4″ wide and 1 1/4″ thick. It depicts a smiling fisherman standing on the shore. The fisherman is wearing a traditional bandanna and a straw apron. He uses both hands to pull a fish net in. The artist’s signature “Gyokudo” is on the base. Aside from some old repairs and crack lines due to its age, it is in good condition.

This dish bears a six character Guangxu kaishu reign mark in iron-red, but in our opinion, the glaze and enamels suggest early 20th century republic period.
A good Yuan dynasty qingbai bluish white glaze dragon handled ewer with cover, pear shape body with raising up spout and dragon shape handle, ewer covered with bluish white glaze, found in east java. ewer is in good condition no chip, no crack, no restoration, very rare to find similar dragon ewer in this good condition.

This unusually shaped carved bone snuff bottle is a late Meiji period (1867~1911) product. It is 2 3/4” long, 1 ¼” wide and ¾” thick. It depicts a curled shrimp as the body of snuff bottle. The bamboo spoon is a replacement. It has a great patina and is in great condition.

Northern Song Dynasty ( 1127 - 1279 ) This rare bowl comes from the same old German collection like the bowl listed earlier here ( item # 1172349, Stock # 468 ) and like on the base of the other bowl also on the base of this bowl there is an old Chinese inscription to the unglazed base. This vase is of a fine, stately hexagonal shape, molded with archaic kuilong designs reminiscent of ancient Chinese bronze work. The celadon glaze is delicate in its greenish-blue shade, and quite thick. The paste is also quite good for 19th century.

A large very decorative porcelain jar resp. flower-pot, decorated with a moulded decoration of 2 dragons and glazed with a very nice blue-green Celadon glaze. It seems that this jar was produced as a flower-pot because there is a hole to the bottom of the jar from the time when the jar was produced and it seems that this hole was closed later, most probably already a long time ago.

A extremely rare Southern Song ( 1127 – 1279 ) Guan ware, Guanyao washer. The well potted body in a very nice shape covered with a grayish-sea-green glaze with a highly attractive crackle. The light grey ware burnt brown in the firing. Guan´, the official ware of the southern Song court, is perhaps the most admired and desirable of all Chinese ceramics.
This rare washer is probably an excavated piece.
