With maker's mark "SF" standing for Sing Fat, who worked in the early 20th century in Canton, a Chinese character mark and "90". Condition: few traces of usage, insert with rim frittings. Northern Song vitreous glazed over white slip Cizhou jar. Nice ivory toned piece emulating Ding ware. This from a Northern Kiln most likely Henan, or Shanxi.

Chinese gilt temple carving of a Qilin breathing fire. Resembling a fu dog, the creature is a chimera mixed with a lion, a deer, a dragon, and sometimes other animals. The Qilin is said to appear with the arrival and the passing of a sage or high ruler.

Old Japanese Biidoro (vidro, Portuguese) kanzashi made out of glass. Glass making was introduced to the Japanese by the Portuguese in the16th century and there has been glass manufacturers in Japan ever since that date. It was particularly popular in Japan during the 19th century. The style of this kanzashi is called tama (ball) kanzashi. The ball is 3/4" (in diameter) natural coral. It is rare to find a glass Kanzashi in this condition. The kanzashi is 7 7/8" long. Meiji period (1868-1912)...
This pair of earmuffs are kept together with a silk ribbon. Worn to protect the ears in winter, the outer side has delicate embroidered flower motif, and the inside is slightly padded and has ear pockets which slip of the ears.
Japanese pair of hardwood pulleys, carved out of Keyaki (elm) wood with hand-forged iron hooks and hardware. Two wooden wheels on the inside are built to support a rope. Each pulley is branded with a signature on both sides.

A beautifully formed earthen flask from the Bizen region, the fire-buffed side still gleaming softly while opposite it has absorbed time into the porous clay. It comes enclosed in a box titled Ko Bizen Kaijo Ko-Tokkuri, inside the lid is annotated the dimensions and the dating Momoyama Jidai no Saku (Made in the Momoyama period) signed by the great Bizen connoisseur Katsura Matasaburo. Chinese Western Han Dynasty Painted Pottery Cocoon Jar (206 BC - AD 8)
This pottery "cocoon" jar was made over 2,000 years ago during the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 8). It is made from a relatively highly-fired grey pottery and has been decorated by "cold painting" different coloured pigments in a design featuring cloud patterns within vertical bands.

Decorated in a wu cai palette of overglaze enamels. There is some wear to the enamels from long use, but overall in good condition. The stand and lid are from the late 19th Century / early 20th Century. Purchased in Japan in the 1970s, where it had been used for the tea ceremony as a container for powdered green tea.

Japanese Black Cast Iron Sake warming Pot with Red Lacquered wood Cover, Ca. 1920, 7 1/2" high with handle up, 9" wide with spout included, very ornate Bronze knob on top of the old original Red Lacquered top. Antique Chinese belt hook of an unusual anthropomorphic figure with the head and wings of an owl but with human-like arms and legs. The opposite "hook" portion is another animal head. Made of bronze and mixed metal with inlaid swirling motifs and inset with carnelian eyes.

Antique Japanese large single section todana tansu. Made of hinoki (Japanese cypress) wood. This piece 4 horizontal rows with 4 drawers in each row for a total of 16 drawers. All of them are the same size. The hardware is made of iron and each drawer has a warabite shaped drawer pull.

This mid. 19th century Japanese Imari (Aka-e) vase is almost 10 ½” high and 4 ¾” on widest part. There are two sections; one depicts a painted phoenix, butterfly and maple tree, the other depicts a geisha holding an umbrella standing in front of iris and hanging flowers. The rest of the vase is decorated with floral and textile designs. It is in perfect condition.

A high-footed Qingbai censer was in decent form.
By flat mouth rim. the censer was stand with floral stem foot.
In characteristic lake-green tint, the glaze was suffused with whitish incursions when frets were observed on the ridges of the floral patterns.
Characteristic and darken firing effects were yielded on the body clay inside the stem foot.
Date: Northern Song Dynasty, 11th/12th century.

Late Meiji period (1890s 1912) Japanese lacquered kushi (hair comb) with gold lacquer and inlaid mother-of-pearl decoration of flowers and fans, design continuing on both sides. An ivory netsuke depicting an Oni and a Kappa on a giant lotus leaf. The sculpture captures the moment in which the Oni cunningly pulls the thread to prank the Kappa and steal the cucumber he is holding in his hands.

A tazza, pedestal dish, with a Satsuma type earthenware, stoneware, body decorated almost entirely with totai cloisonné. The dish decorated with a snowflake shaped, yukiwa, roundel containing various autumn flowers, akikusa, set against a lilac coloured ground, set against a blue cloissone ground inset with flowers and butterflies. The reverse of the dish decorated with further butterflies, flowers and cash set against a blue cloisonné ground. Lilac ground cloisonné to the stand column...
